Return of the Band That Time Forgot

Pearl Jam’s self-titled eighth album is a stunning return to form. What that form is exactly, is not easy to answer. These certainly aren’t the same grungers who broke through in the early 90’s with Ten. But after four albums worth of necessary wanderings (and numerous great tracks), Pearl Jam’s new album seems to find the band in a place where they belong.

This is album is chockfull of, well, rock n’ roll. From the opening track “Life Wasted” to the satisfying ending reverberations of “Inside Job,” Pearl Jam has made an album that is listenable from beginning to end. Read the rest of this entry »

Legalized Bibliophilia

So I just discovered Library Thing, and it rocks!  I’ve wanted a way to catalog my books and share them, and this is the best way so far.  Now I can just stare at our bookshelves with my laptop and enter books enter books enter books.  Yay!  But dear God, this will be an arduous and tedious process.  But it might just help me see exactly all the books we’ve acquired through the years and exactly how many we have, as I have no idea.  Here’s my profile at Library Thing.  Join and be happy.
